Plan your Ideal Event
Good planning is everything - make sure before you start you have a clear idea of your budget and what your "theme" will be. You will need to figure out how many attendees there will be and the date that the event will occur. Your next step is to find a venue for your event. Get this done as soon as possible, so that you are guaranteed the location of your choice. Now comes the fun part - invitations, catering and event planning. Whatever you decide on for your "theme," remember to include it through the entire party, from invitations to the music that you choose. Color is also very important in your presentation, use it to create ambiance. Don't forget about lighting, it sets the mood for your event. Lastly, before your party begins, make sure you have checked on all the details, making sure everything will go as planned. Now, take a deep breath, its party time!

Meet the Team
Title: Executive Chef
Name: David Coverdale

1) How long have you been in the Catering industry?
Overall I have been in the industry 34 years. 28 years were served in Higher Education catering, plus 2 years in business and institution accounts. Also, I had 4 years experience in various restaurants.
2) What do you enjoy most about working for ASU Catering?
I enjoy the move from East to West and wrapping my arms around a whole new Southwestern diet that differs greatly from an East Coast diet. I love it!
3) What is your favorite food?
There isn’t anything that I don’t like. Well, maybe lima beans.
4) What tip would you give to our clients that order catering?
In brief, trust and belief that our Catering department and staff here at ASU Catering will be your "Event Solution". We will partner with you to customize and produce your event to perfection, attaining a lasting and memorable experience.
5) What do you enjoy most about the culinary industry?
In the 34 years in the business, there has not been one single day that has gone by that I wished I never got into this. Every day is a new day and the learning and creativity never stops. Food, events, locations and people change every single day. I love making people happy, it is my daily bread. I can put my heart and soul into it. It kind of has become my religion so to speak.
Food for Thought

A few culinary tidbits that you might not have known:
- French fries are not French, they're Belgian
- In ancient Greece, tossing an apple to a girl was a traditional proposal of marriage; catching it was acceptance.
- Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin ate turkey in foil packets as the first meal on the moon.
