Sun Devil Dining is proud to support the Campus Harvest Program run by the ASU Grounds Department. Through the involvement of student volunteers, ASU Grounds harvests edible landscaping such as Seville oranges, Medjool dates, and select herbs and produce. These campus-grown ingredients are then used by chefs in a variety of menu items such as Seville orange vinaigrettes and chocolate dipped candied orange peels, Medjool date bars and parfaits, Seville orange sweet and sour sauces, etc. Using the local campus ingredients reflects both the desert environment and the connection with ASU.
Two of the most abundant crops on the ASU campus are Medjool Dates and Seville Oranges. With over 265 Seville trees, there are roughly 12 tons of citrus from December through March. Rather than tossing away oranges and dates, Sun Devil Dining incorporates these ingredients into delicious menu items such as date bars and brownies and Seville orange vinaigrettes, sweet and sour sauces, and “Devil-aid.”

CleanFish Alliance
Clean Fish evolved in 2004 when an environmentalist and seafood industry executive joined forces to tackle the unsustainable practices of the conventional fishing industry.
Mission
CleanFish aims to reform the seafood supply chain by connecting small-scale suppliers to food industry distributors, building a market for environmentally sustainable seafood. Tapping into the rising consumer demand for eco-friendly seafood, CleanFish ensures “fish you can trust.”
Suppliers
The CleanFish Alliance is comprised of 30 artisan producers engaged in both aquaculture and wild fishing. Under the umbrella of CleanFish, these small suppliers are able to expand their business to larger markets and scale up their impact as eco-conscious seafood providers.
Products
CleanFish has an extensive variety of farmed and wild-caught seafood - from shrimp caught off the coast of Mexico to halibut raised on a family farm in Colorado.
Java EcoGrounds
Java City launched the Eco-Grounds initiative in response to the coffee industry’s disastrous cycle of low coffee prices, low labor wages, poor farming practices, and poor coffee quality.
EcoGrounds promotes: economic equity, social responsibility, and ecological integrity. To ensure sustainable agricultural practices, Java City sources from third-party certified programs such as Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, and USDA Organic. EcoGrounds takes a holistic approach to guarantee that producers receive fair prices, raise farmer incomes, build long-term relationships with individual farming communities, improve social welfare, and protect biodiversity and ecosystem health.
